The Fire Fairy makes her way
Out in the woods where she can play
Throwing sparks here and there
Sparks that matched her crimson hair
When all at once, a spark took flight
And flew out in the darkened night...
The trees, they tried to pull away
So could live to see another day
But ‘t’was no use, the spark aimed true
Was nothing else that they could do
The spark made smoke which led to fire
The flames devouring ever higher
The bark crackled, leaves ablaze
Surrounded by the smoky haze
It ate away from tree to tree
Searching, wanting to break free
Moving forward like a snake
Leaving ashes and destruction in its wake
Then all at once, the fire stood still
The wood was gone, it’d had its fill
The Fairy gasped at what she’d done
All she’d wanted was a bit of fun
But sometimes things don’t go as planned
It just depends where that sparks lands
If you play with fire, it’s fire you’ll get
And can you live with the regret?
So take heed now and hear this warning
The fairy did not wake next morning
